"Blurtso looks to the future"
The future, thought Blurtso, trying to understand the idea. What could that be? Something that has not happened and is not happening and may not happen but will happen in a present that is not this present.
Hmmmm, a present that is not this present. Where does this present end and the next present begin? If I found that point, would that be the future? Blurtso did not have a very big brain, but even he knew that such a point would never be found. There is only one present, said Blurtso with confidence, even I know that.
The sign that Blurtso is looking at indicates that the future is ahead. Instead of moving forward to discover what this “Future” holds, Blurtso is anxious to understand the present. With out the courage to venture on and with out the perspective that the journey will bring, there is no way to understand the present.
Blurtso is speaking with confidence that only one “present” exists, but his experiences in the future are likely to redefine what that “present” was.
Life is a serious of moments, beginnings, trailheads. The choices we make and the routes we choose in those moments are chance. If Blurtso finds it in him to be open to all those choices in all those moments he will create a personal experience that inspires a greater wisdom.
